I was lucky enough to be selected to second shoot for the wonderful, Lauren Nicole Photography http://laurennicole.com on a wonderfully muggy October day. I have followed Lauren’s work for a number of years so to say I was on cloud 9 was an understatement. When I pulled up to Arranamore Farm & Polo Club it was absolutely pouring. A true Midwest day as the forecast was scheduled to be sunny.

The bride Cassandra, is also a fellow Photographer and a superb one at that. (no pressure, right?) she met Jon while taking Family Photos for his Family and the chemistry was undeniable according to Jon’s dad. Not only did Jon fall for Cassandra but, Jon’s entire family. Cassandra’s electric personality and beauty really left a mark on all of their hearts. Lauren and I walked into the Brides room and all the women from Cassandra’s side was present. Her mom looked like she blended right in with her other sisters and each one of them were so gracious and humble and extended such warmth to me, a stranger they didn’t even know.

Jon is so laid back and just went with the flow of the day. He was happy to be there and equally as happy to be there on the road to forever with the love of his life. She gifted him a timeless typewriter. This gift was picked with thought and care and when Jon opened it the room was silent and he let out a little chuckle. “she knows me so well.” So many more special moments unfolded from the day and I wish I had enough space to count them all.

Cassandra is the baby of the family and unfortunately, her father was unable to join us as he passed a few years prior. It was an emotional day for all not having him there physically. As the ceremony concluded, a rainbow appeared in the sky and the clouds dissipated to a full clear sun soaked view. We all knew it was her father and his spirit. I am not a terribly spiritual person but, even I had goosebumps. It was undeniable.

The rest of the night was as perfect as it could get. I forgot that for a minute I was working a job. I felt like family and those are the best moments as a Wedding Photographer.
